Crisis Intervention

Crisis Intervention is the process of responding to emergency situations and may include; assessment, immediate stabilization, and the determination of level of care in the least restrictive environment in a manner that is timely, responsive and therapeutic. Pathways maintains a close working relationship with local health care providers, the sheriff’s office, emergency medical workers, and schools.

Face-to-face assessments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service is provided by the licensed clinicians at Pathways from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays) and after hours by Comprehensive Crisis Care at 1-800-468-4357.

Program Objective:

• To continue accessibility of crisis intervention services during agency hours.

• To collaborate with the identified after hours provider and local health care providers.

• To utilize CPST providers and the nurse to assist with the coordination of discharge planning and mental health services for adults leaving a psychiatric inpatient setting and who have been referred to Pathways.

• To offer mental health services, as deemed necessary, upon discharge from a psychiatric inpatient facility in order to assure continuity of care.
